Foo Fighters have unveiled the sound to their first track from their new album, ‘Something from Nothing,’ The track is part of the upcoming Sonic Highways, their eighth studio album, which Dave Grohl has dubbed a “love letter to the history of American music.”

‘Something from Nothing’ introduces us to the rock that we have come to expect from Foo Fighters, with lead vocals from Grohl that ease us into the track as it builds.

Sonic Highways is going to be different to the Foo Fighters albums that precede it. Recorded in eight different cities in America, the album features a different legend on each track, setting it apart from 2011’s Wasting Light which was recorded in Grohl’s garage.

With Sonic Highways, not only are we receiving a new album (after three long years of waiting), but a television series too. Sonic Highways is a series that will feature on America’s HBO, documenting the construction of the band’s album of the same name and allowing viewers a personal insight into the workings of it.

The rest of the album will be released on 10th November, but is available to pre-order now via Foo Fighters’ website.
