It’s been an interesting week for Southampton’s culture scene.
We said The Nuffield were taking their comedy schedule very seriously this season and Russell Howard’s surprise appearance at The Comedy Bar – BIG GIG has only proved this further. The Mayflower, meanwhile, delighted shoppers in the town centre with its launch day for War Horse featuring a visit from one of the show’s amazing puppets.
The Mayflower
From the 14th-19th October, The Mayflower will be the home of Evita. Starring Marti Pellow in the role of Che, the musical is famous for being one of the collaborations between composer Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyricist Tim Rice.
Student deal: £15 tickets for full-time students on opening night (Monday 14th). This offer can be purchased online.
The Nuffield
Another strong week for comedy lies ahead here.
Ardal O’Hanlon, star of comedies My Hero and Father Ted, will be performing at The Nuffield on Sunday 13th. Billed as a ‘spellbinding fusion of off-beat stories and polished material’, the familiar comedian is sure to give a good show.
Next Saturday (19th) is the turn of talented impressionist and all-round funny man Alistair McGowan as he brings his Not Just a Pretty Voice tour to Highfield Campus.
