Irrational Games have announced today that the release date of the final DLC instalment of one of 2013’s best games; BioShock Infinite. The new DLC, BioShock Infinite: Burial at Sea – Episode Two, will become available worldwide on 25th March 2014, concluding the storyline of both Burial at sea – Episode One and the main game, BioShock Infinite.
Interestingly, this DLC episode allows the player to control Elizabeth who acts as an A.I. character for the main game and in episode one. According to the press release, the DLC features ‘stealth- orientated gameplay’ (rarely seen in the main game), complimented by new weapons and modes. This episode will appeal to fans of the original BioShock as well as fans of BioShock Infinite, due to the setting in the original BioShock’s ‘Rapture’, incorporating aspects of both games that fans of the series loved.
Perhaps to further entice potential players of the game and fans of the series, the lead writer and creative director of Irrational Games, Ken Levine, has also stated that the story of Burial at Sea – Episode Two “involves nearly every major character from the original BioShock and BioShock Infinite”. Apparently the DLC will also “give gamers a new perspective on the BioShock universe”.
Until the DLC is released, brace yourselves for further details being drip-fed from Irrational Games as they seek to conclude the story of BioShock Infinite on a high.
BioShock Infinite will be available for download worldwide on PS3, Xbox 360 and Windows PC, beginning March 25th.
