In anticipation of the release of new IP and game Watch Dogs on 27th May 2014, developer Ubisoft has been ramping up the hype and publicity for the game that was originally scheduled to launch back in November 2013 with the PS4.
Amongst the television spots that have been seen recently, the 101 trailer gives a much more in depth view into the game’s core systems and features. In particular, the focus on hacking is addressed, as well as the excitingly integrated multiplayer mode and the game’s companion app. Perhaps stealing the show in the trailer, however, is the variety of options offered by the in-game phone, with ‘Digital trips’ offering mini games given names like ‘Spider-tank destruction’.
It seems as though the delay in the game’s release has also not harmed pre-order figures, with Ubisoft today stating that Watch Dogs is the most pre-ordered new IP in the developer’s history, as well as being the most pre-ordered new IP in the entire industry so far this year.
