The festival organised to raise funds for Oxfam and tackle local and national poverty is coming back to Southampton this year. Oxjam Southampton 2014 will be held from 17th-19th October whilst fundraiser gigs will occur from 25th-27th July.
The venues in central Southampton which have confirmed to be part of the festival include The Joiners, The Mango Bar, The Art House, Mettricks and Goblets. Each venue will cater for specific genres of music and the organisers this year aim to appeal to the public with a diversity of creative arts.
The festival works on a wristband system; one wristband will provide entrance into all the participating venues, meaning it is possible to go around the city on the day and be able to watch a variety of performances.
Oxjam Southampton 2014 Takeover Manager Gary Munday stressed the importance of supporting the festival, “raising money for a worthy cause” and “the profile of local talents in Southampton.”
The organising team this year are on the lookout for Hampshire-based performers and volunteers. More information and details can be found on Twitter and Facebook, or you can email [email protected].
