In its first ever U.K. tour after 15 years at London’s Lyceum Theatre, Southampton’s Mayflower Theatre is the first stop for Disney’s Award Winning Musical, The Lion King. Brought to life for the stage by Julie Taymor, the Disney classic many of us will remember fondly from childhood has been seen by over 70 million people worldwide and is now performed in New York, Tokyo, Hamburg, Madrid, Sao Paulo and Sydney.
The tale of Simba’s journey has seen record-breaking ticket sales for Southampton’s Mayflower Theatre throughout its two months of performance, which will be finishing on Saturday 6th September before touring to Sunderland, Cardiff and Manchester. Despite this, good seats are still available for its last few days here in Southampton and can be found on the Mayflower’s website. Against the backdrop of the Serengeti Plain, the musical’s cast will bring audiences a breath-taking performance of the songs made famous by the 1994 animated film.
