It has been confirmed that Mel Giedroyc will host a new family quiz TV show, entitled Relatively Clever.
The comedian and presenter, best known for co-presenting the BBC phenomenon The Great British Bake Off, will head the programme which is to pit families against each other, questioning intelligence and trivia as well as the dynamics of the family.
The programme will air in 2015 for seven episodes on Sky1, with the show’s creation a result of Sky 1’s tactical investment into its 8pm slot.
When discussing her upcoming project, Giedroyc has said: “I’m very excited to be working on new Sky1 quiz show, Relatively Clever. Everyone loves a quiz and it’ll be great to see the families working together, putting their general knowledge and unashamed shrewdness to the test as they battle it out for the Relatively Clever trophy.“
The show will be produced by John Stanley Productions, who have been behind the BBC show The Matt Lucas Award Show, as well as the upcoming Matt Lucas comedy, Pompidou, which is expected to air early next year. Relatively Clever will receive international distribution from Sky Vision.
As well as this endeavour, Giedroyc is also said to be part of an upcoming ITV daytime show, along with her onscreen partner, Sue Perkins.
