BBC Radio 5 presenters and film critics, Mark Kermode and Simon Mayo will soon be arriving at The Nuffield Theatre, bringing with them a whole range of cinematic cures and ailments in their acclaimed Movie Doctors show.
The nation’s ‘go to’ experts on all things film will be taking to the stage to celebrate the recent publication of their book, The Movie Doctors. The show will see the two broadcasters blend an interesting mix of movie trivia, forthright opinion and “no-holds-barred bickering” in front of a live audience.
Passionately exploring the anatomy of film, Kermode and Mayo will be dissecting the best and worst of contemporary cinema – looking at what makes a great scene tick, delving into the inner-workings of comedic gems and, of course, prescribing immediate surgical attention to some of film’s most abhorrent projects.
The show will also be interactive, with audiences encouraged to give questions and suggestions for the two Doctors to ponder on stage. Audience members can even send in questions ahead of time via Twitter or Facebook.
Containing “copious injections of humour” and “big doses of audience participation,” The Movie Doctors seems set to be a unique, and hugely ‘wittertaining’ evening for all film fans.
The Movie Doctors will visit the Nuffield Theatre on Sunday 6th December at 7.30pm. Tickets are priced at £18 for students and £20 for adults, via this link.
The accompanying book can also be purchased from all good bookstores.
