RIVA is a local talent, originally from a small town near Portsmouth and who attended the Academy of Contemporary Music, following in the footsteps of Newton Faulkner and most notably a certain Ed Sheeran.
The starlet sights Shakira and Lana del Rey amongst her major influences, with the former possessing a tone very similar to RIVA’s. If I had to draw comparisons, I would quite comfortably say that her sound is very similar to that of the Colombian’s, whilst possessing a style more aligned with that of ‘Good Times‘ singer Ella Eyre.
Her debut single ‘Lose My Mind’, which you can listen to below, is out on the 25th September but has already been a massive hit over on the clubbing island of Ibiza. RIVA has also already made a string of high profile performances at major festivals, including playing alongside the likes of Ellie Goulding and Tinie Tempah at last year’s Sundown Music Festival in front of around 50,000 people.
On the rise, with flair and a party-perfect contemporary sound, RIVA is most definitely someone to keep an eye on in the near future.
