Welcome back to our weekly update of all the goings on at your student cinema. It was busy for us last week with some of the highlights of the season on show in Inside Out and Jurassic World.
In the coming days we have some great films on show again, and we are ramping up our preparations for our Back to the Future marathon on 21st October 2015, ring a bell for any fans out there?
Magic Mike XXL, Tuesday 13th October at 19:00
When Channing Tatum starred in the original Magic Mike back in 2012, no one suspected it would be the hit it was, with critics raving, and box office revenue amounting to over twenty times its budget.
Magic Mike is back in XXL, which picks up three years after the original film, with Mike returning to the stripper life to put in a memorable final performance.
If you’re a Channing Tatum fan or just want a laugh, check out the video below of a segment on popular chat show The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where kids are given the title “Magic Mike” and have to write a story… what could go wrong?
The Connection, Wednesday 14th October at 19:30
In the mood for a rich thriller on Wednesday evening? Well the Phoenix have you covered with The Connection.
A drug ring is rife in 1970s Marseilles, and it is up to a former judge Pierre Michel to bring it down. Expect some gun fights, car chases, and some thrilling sequences in this French Language hit. Tickets will cost £3 for students.
The Longest Ride, Sunday 18th October at 17:00
If romance is your thing, then The Longest Ride is a movie you should not miss. From the author of The Notebook, comes a story of a young couple who are all caught up with romance when their fates intertwine with an elderly gentleman who lost his love in World War II.
Have a look at the trailer, because if you get emotional like I did, then you may need to bring tissues when you come along on Sunday. It’s the start of our fantastic double bill which you should not miss.
Terminator Genisys, Sunday 18th October at 20:00
Arnie is back in the fifth entry to the Terminator franchise which headlines the week on Sunday night. If you’re a fan of the first three Terminator films (yes I missed Salvation on purpose), then you’re in for a treat. Arnie is back in full swing, not just a cameo of a young CGI self.
You know the story of John Connor sending back Kyle Reese from the future to protect his mother, but in this entry, the timeline changes, and events don’t turn out quite like you expect.
Tickets for all films will cost £3, and will be free to those who already have premiere passes. If you haven’t picked one up yet, it’s not too late to do so. Just head to the box office and join us for the rest of the fantastic Autumn Season.
Stay tuned for more information about our upcoming marathons as well as our screenings of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 in next week’s article!
