The three nominees for the BRITs Critics’ Choice Award 2014 have been announced.
Ella Eyre, Sam Smith and Chlöe Howl have been nominated for the BRIT gong which is presented to the most promising British musical talent. All three of the nominees were included in the BBC’s Sound of 2014 list, and were put forward for the award by various critics and tastemakers.
The award’s previous winner, Tom Odell, achieved a number one with his debut album Long Way Down earlier this year, while other recipients have gone on to become some of the best-selling British artists of recent years including Florence & the Machine, Emeli Sandé and Adele.
The winner of the award will be announced on 12th December, with the BRIT Awards taking place at London’s O2 Arena on 19th February 2014. The ceremony will be hosted by James Corden for the fifth and final time, with performances from Katy Perry and Arctic Monkeys.
