A 31-year-old woman has died after being found unconscious in a toilet at BoomTown festival, situated near Winchester in Hampshire.
The woman was found in the music festival’s toilet at the event yesterday (09/08/14) afternoon at 1.50pm, said the Hampshire police.
After being rushed to the hospital in Winchester, the woman was pronounced dead shortly after her arrival.
The area has been cordoned whilst police try to investigate how the woman died. Her death is not believed to be suspicious.
A police spokesperson said: “The woman, who is believed to be 31 years old, was taken to hospital in Winchester where she was pronounced dead shortly after arrival, despite best medical efforts to revive her.
“It is not believed to be suspicious and it is too early to speculate on cause of death and a post-mortem examination will be conducted in due course to help determine this.
“Police are providing support to her family including her husband who was at the festival with her.”
A spokesperson for BoomTown Fair contributed with: “Our thoughts are with all her loved ones at this tragic time, and the festival is doing all it can to assist those involved.”
This news follows from last year’s tragic death, where an 18-year-old woman died at the festival after taking the drug ketamine.
