One of the biggest awards in British (and Irish!) music, the Barclaycard Mercury Prize has just announced their list of nominees.

The shortlist was unveiled only a few moments ago, so here it is:

Royal Blood – Royal Blood
Kate Tempest – Everybody Down
Polar Bear – In Each And Every One
Damon Albarn – Everyday Robots
Jungle – Jungle

Nick Mulvey – First Mind
