Slam Dunk Festival returns this year, popping up in Leeds, Birmingham and Hatfield from Saturday 28th May to Monday 30th May. This year marks the festivals tenth anniversary which, since 2006, has seen the likes of The All American Rejects, You Me at Six, We Are the In Crowd, Fall Out Boy and All Time Low grace its various stages. This year sees rock icons Young Guns, Of Mice and Men and New Found Glory performing for the attending punk rockers, headlined by the one and only Panic! At the Disco who will close each of the three days.
The bank-holiday weekend kicks off in Leeds city centre, moving to the NEC in Birmingham for the Sunday, before culminating at The Forum in Hatfield on the Monday. On the main stage, Moose Blood, Mayday Parade and Young Guns join pop-punk legends Yellowcard, Mallory Knox and New Found Glory before the day finishes with Panic! At the Disco, who will undoubtedly close the festival in style and are perfectly suited for the festivals tenth anniversary.
Brendon Urie, frontman of Panic!, said of the announcement, “it’s awesome, it’s fucking cool, and I’m very excited,” and that, “we haven’t actually played it before, but we have friends who have and have heard it was awesome.”
Headlining the second stage is Of Mice and Men, who are joined by ISSUES, The Amity Affliction, Northlane and The Word Alive among various others who will be performing throughout the day.
Other stages also promise to hit peaks of punk rock excitement with The Story So Far, Real Friends, Four Year Strong and As It Is all performing on one stage, and The King Blues, Zebrahead and King Prawn on another. Every Time I Die, Cancer Bats, Dead!, and Shikari Sound System will also perform for the fans of heavier, alternative rock.
