Cardiff’s Sŵn Festival has added almost 90 up and coming artists to the line-up.
Now in it’s seventh year, the new music festival is set to take place from 17th-20th October across Cardiff’s live music venues. Pronounced ‘soon’, it literally translates as ‘sound’ or ‘noise’.
Joining Everything Everything, Chlöe Howl and the other 48 acts announced in June, are Ghostpoet, Marika Hackman, Frankie & The Heartstrings, Clare Maguire and Drenge, alongside many more. Over 130 bands are now billed to play at the festival; the full line-up can be viewed here.
Many local bands will also play the festival, which has previously hosted artists including Alt-J, The Vaccines, Marina & The Diamonds, The Cribs, and Ben Howard.
The festival which is co-curated by Radio 1’s Huw Stephens, is primarily a celebration of music coming out of Wales, but also plays host to a variety of other musicians from around the world. The festival was amongst the 2012 nominees for NME’s Best Small Festival Award.
Tickets for the whole festival can be bought for £65, whilst day tickets are also available. For more information, visit the Sŵn Festival website, here.
