After being investigated by broadcasting regulator Ofcom, The X Factor producers have decided to do what the voters couldn’t quite motivate themselves to do and get rid of everybody’s ‘favourite’ contestant Frankie Cocozza, after he was reported to have broken a ‘golden rule’.
It’s anybody’s guess what ‘golden rule’ the faux-rock midget has been deemed to have broken, but one thing’s for sure — he won’t take any further part in the competition.
The X Factor was already being investigated, as viewers complained that the programme had been glorifying drinking alcohol and staying out all night after reporting Frankie’s antics on the programme. Furthermore, Cocozza was reported to have sworn live on-air before the 9pm watershed.
Though his Twitter account has remained silent since yesterday, Cocozza has made the following statement: “I’d like to apologise to Gary, my fellow contestants and everyone who has voted for me, but, as of today, I will no longer be in The X Factor. My life during the show has gone out of control and my behaviour off stage has over-stepped the rules of the competition. I no longer deserve my place in the show, so I am therefore leaving. I would like to thank everyone who has supported me.”
