The long awaited, trouble-ridden film directed by the infamous Peter Jackson has just released the first glimpse of what is set to be the 2012 blockbuster — The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.
The film does not reach our cinema screens until next year but is already receiving great hype, and Lord of the Rings fanatics can finally catch a glimpse of the first part of the eagerly awaited prequel — based on the book of the same name — to the hugely successful franchise.
Peter Jackson takes the helm once again to portray the story of Bilbo Baggins in the flick titled An Unexpected Journey. Martin Freeman — known for his role in The Office –has been cast as the titular hobbit, where he will team up with 13 dwarves as they fight to regain control of the lost Kingdom of Erebor.
The film sees many famous faces from the previous trilogy appearing too: Ian McKellen returns as everyone’s favourite Gandalf the Grey, plus Elijah Wood, Cate Blanchett, Orlando Bloom, Andy Serkis and Christopher Lee also appear.
Although the trailer has been released this early, we will have to wait until December 2012 to see the long awaited The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. You can see the trailer here.
