The singer has announced that her third album will be made available in November as part of an app.
Lady Gaga made the announcement on her official Facebook page alongside an image of the singer sporting her ARTPOP wrist tattoo. In the statement, Gaga said: “the app itself is a musical and visual engineering system that combines music, art, fashion and technology with a new interactive world-wide community.”
The statement goes on to explain how the app will work: “Exploring Gaga’s influence as a cultural interface, the user will share in the “adrenaline of fame” as they build and share their own projects, chat with one another, and watch in real-time on a virtual globe as ARTPOP explodes onto the physical and virtual universe at once November 11.”
The first single from ARTPOP will be released through the app on 19th August, followed by the full album on 11th November. The album is the follow up to 2011’s Born This Way which reached the top spot in the album charts in 26 countries.
Yesterday it was claimed that Lady Gaga will make her live comeback at London’s Roundhouse in September as part of the iTunes Festival, but Apple declined to comment on the claim.
The singer has spent the last five months recovering from a hip operation which she had in February. Gaga recently sparked speculation following an appearance at a Gay Pride event in New York, where it appeared that she had had plastic surgery on her nose.
