After months of speculation, the two leads for the film adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey have been announced. British actor Charlie Hunnam will play the allusive Christian Grey, and US actor Dakota Johnson will play Anastasia Steele.
Dakota Johnson, 23, is best known for her appearances as Kate in the US sitcom Ben & Kate as well as appearing in The Social Network and 21 Jump Street.
Charlie Hunnam, 33, is known for his rolein the Channel 4 drama Queer as Folk, as well as appearing in the 2006 film Children of Men.
Author of the novel EL James revealed the news by a series of tweets:
I am delighted to let you know that the lovely Dakota Johnson has agreed to be our Anastasia in the film adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey.

The two actors will join director Sam Taylor-Johnson, in the film that is to be released in August 2014.
