The Warehouse Project, based in Greater Manchester, has cancelled it’s 2014 series of events following recent controversy.
A statement on The Warehouse Project’s website said “Whilst we look forward to the start of the new year, we would like to announce that the WHP season will not take place as normal in 2014.
“There will be a handful of special events but no full series as there has been for the last 8 years.”
Typically running from September to New Year’s Day, The Warehouse Project constitutes a series of events which have previously hosted huge names in house and electronic music including Annie Mac, James Blake, and Basement Jaxx.
Whilst the organisers have given no official reason for the cancellation, it comes at a time when The Warehouse Project has become marred in controversy, following the death of a man at an event last month, with several others being taken to hospital due to consuming a “bad batch” of ecstasy.
Selected events are still expected to go ahead, with the line ups for the New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day events being unveiled tomorrow.
