Example is the third headliner to be announced for The Great Escape festival.
The rapper will perform at The Brighton Dome on the first evening of the festival, Thursday 8th May.
The rapper, whose fifth studio album will be released in June this year, first performed at The Great Escape in 2008, shortly before the release of his breakthrough single ‘Won’t Go Quietly’.
Example said of his performance: “A lot has changed for me since I performed at The Great Escape in 2008 in a pub to about 30 people! I played there again in 2011 so it’s a real honour to return a 3rd time and play on the festival’s biggest stage. It’s been an amazing journey – playing all the past hits and loads from the unreleased album 5, I will ensure this is a show to remember!”
The announcement comes after Kelis and Wild Beasts were unveiled as the other headliners for the three day new music festival in Brighton.
Other artists confirmed to perform at the festival include Jon Hopkins, Chlöe Howl, George Ezra, Charli XCX, Royal Blood, Joel Compass, MNEK and lots more. Another line up announcement is expected in the coming weeks.
Now in its ninth year and firmly established as Europe’s leading festival for new music, the event will draw over 18,000 music lovers to the south coast of England, all of whom are looking to discover the next big thing in one of 35 venues dotted all over the city.
1 and 2 day festival wristbands go on sale today for varying prices, with single tickets available for Example’s performance at The Brighton Dome for £18.50. Full festival tickets are still available through The Great Escape website.
