Frightened Rabbit have been announced as this year’s Saturday headliner for 2000trees Festival, taking place from Thursday 10th to Saturday 12th July at Upcote Farm in Withington, near Cheltenham.

Previously headlining in 2011, the Scottish foursome return to the main stage after enjoying commercial and critical success in 2013 with their top-10 album Pedestrian Verse.

New additions to the line up also include Brighton garage-duo Blood Red Shoes, Californian hardcore outfit Trash Talk, as well as Empire, Gorgeous George, Sam ‘Get Cape’ Duckworth, Little Matador, Delta Sleep, The St. Pierre Snake Invasion, Thrill Collins, Eugene Quell, The Common Tongues, I, the Lion and Wild Cat Strike.

They join previously announced acts such as Dan le Sac vs. Scroobius Pip, Public Service Broadcasting, The Bronx, Jamie Lenman, Wolf AliceKids in Glass Houses and Southampton’s very own Band of Skulls who top the bill on Friday night.

Created by a group of six friends who had grown tired of the rampant commercialism of the major festival market, 2000trees’ aim is to produce an alternative which is not only far more affordable than the country’s big hitters, but also manages to maintain a sense of community through the festival’s small 5,000 capacity and by sourcing from local suppliers every step of the way.

Last year their tireless effort was recognised, winning the Grassroots Festival prize at 2013’s UK Festival Awards.

Weekend tickets cost £75, including camping on Friday and Saturday. Thursday Early Entry tickets cost £15. Buy here. For full line up info and more, click here.
