Kim Dickens has been cast for the female lead of the upcoming spin-off series of hit TV show, The Walking Dead.
Deadline have reported that the female actor is to star opposite Cliff Curtis in the AMC show, which is created by both Robert Kirkman and Dave Erickson. According to reports, Dickens had to fight off quite a few other contenders, after a “lengthy casting process”.
Adam Davidson will direct the pilot of the spinoff, who has a wealth of experience in the TV industry, having directed episodes of both Suits and Masters of Sex.
The show has the working title Cobalt and will be set in a different location to The Walking Dead, but still within the same universe.
As well as recently starring in Gone Girl, Dickens has also been cast for the third season of Kevin Spacey-starring House of Cards.
