Dan Stevens (Downton Abbey) will star alongside Emma Watson in the upcoming Beauty and the Beast live-action movie which is set to hit our screens in 2016, following on from the upcoming adaptation of Cinderella.
The former Downton Abbey star is already attached to play the Beast/Prince, posting an image saying “Beast Mode” on Twitter. Emma Watson, who recently confirmed that she will play Belle in Twilight director Bill Condon’s upcoming adaptation, welcomed her new co-star to the movie in a Twitter post.
Meanwhile, Luke Evans (Dracula: Untold) is tipped to star as the narcissistic Gaston. Though with these three actors there seems to be a certain theme with all of the actors currently coming from the UK.
Stephen Chbosky, who directed Watson in The Perks of Being a Wallflower, has written the film’s screenplay from a previous draft by Evan Spiliotopoulos.
Beauty and the Beast is the latest Disney classic to get a live-action revival, following the success of Maleficent. Cinderella has also received the treatment with Game of Thrones favourite, Richard Madden, released later this month. This will be followed by The Jungle Book.
Beauty and the Beast is expected to hit cinemas in 2016.

What a cast <3
I’m not sure but i love Luke Evans for Gaston!
Dan Stevens is my favourite after I saw The Guest. He or Evans would have been great as Gaston but I think their looks suit their characters really well. Rumour as well that Emma Thompson could be up for Mrs. Potts. If that’s true then this will probably have the best cast of all of Disney’s live-action do-overs.
I’ll have to look into The Guest. I would love Emma Thompson!
