The stop-motion dark fantasy film Coraline was released in the UK, 6 years ago today.
Directed by Henry Selick – who also directed Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas and James and The Giant Peach – the film is based on Neil Gaiman’s novel of the same name, in which a brave and curious young girl named Coraline discovers an alternate world within her new home.
Released back on 8th May 2009, the film features the vocal talents of Dakota Fanning, Teri Hatcher, Jennifer Saunders and Dawn French.
The film was released to critical acclaim, earning both Academy Award and Golden Globe nominations for Best Animated Feature.
