Thor actor, Chris Hemsworth has joined the cast of the upcoming Ghostbusters reboot.
Although director Paul Feig has not yet started shooting his female-led Ghostbusters reboot, the latest casting news has given everyone a reason to laugh and smile. In a tweet, the director of Spy and Bridesmaids revealed that Hemsworth would play the receptionist for the ‘Busters headquarters.
Hemsworth – who plays perhaps the most masculine and ridiculously attractive character in all the Marvel Cinematic Universe – is going to take a seat behind the desk. In the original 1984 film, the role of ‘Janine’ was played by Annie Potts. In the original film and it’s sequel, the character was romantically entangled with Harold Ramis’ Egon.
Hemsworth has proven himself time and time again to not only be an adept and charismatic movie star, but a great dramatic actor (in films like Rush), with admirable comic timing. The idea of him taking not just a supporting role in this film, but the role of a completely minor and previously female character – all in the service of the joke – is delightful.
Ghostbusters, starring Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, and Kate McKinnon, is set to be released, 22nd July 2016.

He’s also trying test-driving his comedy chops in Vacation out later this year with excites me greatly.
That looks okay, but he, as always, looks like the best thing about it.
