Disney have released a short teaser trailer for their 2016 animation, Zootopia.
Zootopia is set in a broad metropolis built, run and populated by animals, in a world where humans never existed.
The teaser for the anthropomorphic animal film – which is directed by Tangled’s Byron Howard and Wreck-It Ralph’s Richard Moore – suggests this will be like ‘nothing you’ve seen be-fur’. The trailer also gives as an introductory nod into the non-human world, where animals use technology just as humans would and socialise and interact with one another accordingly.
Yet, as in any kind of society, some characters just don’t get along, like the film’s protagonists – a fox named Nick Wilde (voiced by Jason Bateman) and a rabbit called Judy Hopps (Ginnifer Goodwin). He is a scam-artist fox and she’s new to the Zootopia police force. It is clear from the trailer that these two are sworn enemies, tormenting each other to a Tom and Jerry-like effect. However, when something goes wrong, the plot of the film will see these two having to work together and overcome their differences.
While the teaser trailer does not offer much, it is engaging enough to give us hope that Zootopia will be another winner for Disney, following in the footsteps of Frozen, Big Hero 6 and Tangled.
Zootopia is set to hit cinemas on 4th March 2016.
