An official trailer for the much-anticipated Dreamworks sequel, Kung Fu Panda 3, has finally been released – following an online leak of the Chinese commercial earlier this month.
The animated film revisits the story of Po (Jack Black); a loveable, if slightly dim young panda who, in the two previous films, has battled against the odds to become a kung fu master, alongside the so-called Furious Five. This time, Po must battle a supernatural foe named Kai (J.K. Simmons), who seeks to destroy all the Kung Fu masters in China.
However, as the trailer depicts, that’s not all that our rotund hero has to deal with – Po is also faced with the sudden re-emergence of his own species, after a lifetime of believing himself to be the only Panda left alive. Among the new set of pandas is Po’s long-lost father, Li Shan (Bryan Cranston) and an overly eager young female called Mei Mei (Rebel Wilson).
The film, which is directed by Jennifer Yuh Nelson and Alessandro Carloni, will also feature the vocal talents of franchise regulars, Dustin Hoffman, Angelina Jolie, Seth Rogen, Lucy Liu, David Cross and James Hong.
Kung Fu Panda 3 will be released on 18th March 2016.
