2K Sports have announced that a Special Edition of their flagship franchise will be available to players. The greatest basketball player of all-time and Hall of Famer, Michael Jordan will feature on the cover.
Current All-Stars Anthony Davis of the New Orleans Pelicans, James Harden of the Houston Rockets, and the NBA’s ‘Most Valuable Player’, Steph Curry (of the NBA Champion Golden State Warriors) will adorn the standard covers of the game.

If gamers choose to pre-order the Special Edition version of NBA 2K16, they will be rewarded by receiving a poster, a fathead and Air Jordan apparel for use in the MyPLAYER mode of the game. They will also get the added bonus of receiving the game four days before it’s official release date.
Michael Jordan, who appears on the cover for the third time following appearances on 2K11 and 2K12, said of his latest inclusion as a cover star: “I’m excited about this year’s NBA 2K’s Special Edition. NBA 2K16 allows gamers young and old to not only experience and re-create some of my greatest moments on the basketball court but also customize their players with Jordan shoes and apparel.”
This year’s MyPLAYER mode also features a storyline filmed and created by legendary director and New York Knicks fan, Spike Lee – the trailer of which can be seen in the video below.
NBA 2K16 will be released on all consoles on 29th September. It is also available to pre-order now, and if done so will be sent out for 25th September.
