Canadian actress, Neve Campbell has joined the cast of Netflix’s hit political drama series, House of Cards.
Campbell, who is probably best known for her role as Sidney Prescott in the Scream movie franchise, is set to join the show as a new regular character. The fourth season is due to start shooting this summer, with Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright reprising their roles as morally corrupt power couple, Frank and Claire Underwood.
The identity of Campbell’s character is currently being kept under wraps, but there has been some speculation that the series might introduce a new younger couple to come and challenge the Underwoods. This is Campbell’s first regular television role in a while, after making small appearances on hit shows such as Grey’s Anatomy and Mad Men.
House of Cards – which is based on the 1990 BBC mini-series of the same name – is one of Netflix’s biggest original exports, and was the first online-only TV series to ever be nominated for an Emmy.
House of Cards: Season Four will launch on Netflix in early 2016. Catch up with previous seasons on Netflix now.
