The 2015 Barclaycard Mercury Prize will see an extensive new partnership between the Mercury Prize and BBC Music.
At the hands of this partnership, the BBC will broadcast exclusive coverage of the Mercury Prize 2015 Albums of the Year. On top of this, they will showcase the 2015 shortlist through a series of studio sessions.
The shortlist announcement for this year’s Mercury Prize will be on Friday 16th October, with the winner of the award being announced on Friday 20th November on both BBC Four and BBC Radio 6 Music.
The first ever winner of the prestigious award was Primal Scream in 1992, and it has since been bestowed upon the talents of Pulp, Dizzee Rascal, Arctic Monkeys, and The xx.
