A first look image of the new, all female gang of Ghostbusters has been unveiled on Twitter.
The picture, initially tweeted by GhostbustersNews.com, shows the four-piece – played by comic actresses, Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones – suited up on set of the upcoming film. Director Paul Feig recently teased fans with an image of the newly made costumes on Twitter.
Interestingly, the newly released image shows the ladies wearing plain jumpsuits, that are not yet adorned with the iconic Ghostbusters logo – which therefore leads us to believe that these are pre-ghostbustin’ suits, made for wear at the beginning of the film’s plot.
Though Feig has been keeping a lot of the film’s details close to his chest, the basic story – which is co-written by Feig and The Heat‘s Katie Dippold – has been unearthed. Reportedly, the film is set to follow Wiig and McCarthy as a pair of unheralded authors who write a book suggesting that ghosts are real. Skip to a few years later, and Wiig finds herself laughed out of a prestigious academic position, after her colleagues find out about her paranormal hypothesis. Wiig then joins McCarthy, Jones and McKinnon to fight off a massive spectre invasion in Manhattan.
Chris Hemsworth is set to play the team’s receptionist, while other recent additions to the cast include Andy Garcia, Matt Walsh, Michael K. Williams and Neil Casey. Ghostbusters is set to be released on 22nd July, next year.
