Lena Headey and John Oliver are joining the vocal cast of CBBC’s Danger Mouse. The casting was announced during a Danger Mouse panel at Comic-Con this weekend.
Game of Thrones star, Headey will play US Secret Agent Jeopardy Mouse, while the Last Week Tonight host Oliver is set to voice the mad wolf scientist, Dr Augustus P Crumhorn III.
Headey said: “I wanted to do it [Danger Mouse] because it was pure nostalgia for me. I have children now and it’s just a treat to be involved in something that you loved as a kid and be able to share it. Those moments as an actor that come along once in while are not to be missed.”
Oliver added: “I’ve loved Danger Mouse my whole life. Danger Mouse was a significant part of my childhood. So to get a chance to do it is like getting a chance to step into your childhood, which is both a magical and a potentially hazardous thing! It will be awesome, I can’t wait to see it, let alone hear myself in it!”
It was also revealed that the vampire duck, Count Duckula will make an appearance on the show. The pair will join Alexander Armstrong and Kevin Eldoo, who voice both Danger Mouse and Penfold on the show.
Stephen Fry also appears as Colonel K, while Dave Lamb acts as the narrator. Watch the teaser trailer for the new series of Danger Mouse below.
