Twilight star Nikki Reed will be popping up in the third season of Sleepy Hollow as an American hero.
Reed has been cast in the Fox fantasy series as Betsy Ross – the famous spy who sewed the very first American flag during the Revolutionary War. According to producer Len Wiseman, this version of Betsy Ross will be both “alluring” and “a physical force of nature.”
“We are all very excited to welcome Nikki Reed into the world of Sleepy Hollow,” he told The Hollywood Reporter. “Nikki’s the perfect choice to bring a smart and sexy edge to our show’s twisted version of American icon, Betsy Ross.”
Betsy Ross has previously been name-checked in the series as a former lover of Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison). Reed is well known for her breakthrough role as troubled teen Evie Zamora in the semi-autobiographical drama Thirteen. The actress also famously played Rosalie Hale in The Twilight Saga, and has worked on television in The OC.
Sleepy Hollow returns on 1st October on Fox.
