October 21st 2015 has always been a significant date for Back to the Future fans, as it is the year in which Marty and Doc Brown first travel to the future. To mark this occasion, as well as the 30th anniversary of the first film, Universal are re-releasing all three Back to the Future movies in a brand new Blu-Ray boxset.

The three films have already been remastered and were previously re-released for Universal’s 100th Anniversary range in 2012, but this year sees the uncovering of never-before-seen footage and some newly released material. All the material will be packaged within a light-up Flux Capacitor. And in addition, every boxset will include a 64-page booklet entitled Back to the Future: A Visual History.

As a whole, the new box set will include:

  • Back to the Future, Back to the Future Part II and Back to the Future Part III
  • A bonus disc with more than two hours of content, including deleted scenes, a Q&A with Michael J Fox, eight archival featurettes, behind the scenes footage and music videos.
  • Digital HD with UltraViolet (Blu-Ray exclusive)
  • Collectible Packaging (Blu-Ray exclusive)
  • All new original shorts: Including Doc Brown Saves The World!, starring Christopher Lloyd
  • OUTATIME: Restoring the DeLorean – An inside look at the 2012 restoration of the most iconic car in film history
  • Looking Back to the Future: A 9-part retrospective from 2009 on the trilogy’s legacy
  • Back to the Future: The Animated Series: 2 episodes (‘Brothers’ and ‘Mac the Black’) from the 1991 series featuring live action segments with Christopher Lloyd as Doc Brown
  • Tales from the Future 6-part documentary
  • The Physics of Back to the Future
  • Audio commentaries
  • A look at Back to the Future: The Ride at Universal Studios

This will be the first time that Back to the Future: The Complete Animated Series has been released on DVD/Blu-Ray, and will be sold separately if you don’t want to buy the entire Blu-Ray collection again.

In addition to all of this, the celebration continues with all three movies being re-released in cinemas on 21st October. A brand new picture disc of the soundtrack will also be available to buy on vinyl from 16th October.
