Whitney Houston’s daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown has passed away after being medically induced into a coma earlier this year.
A family representative has said that Brown died on Sunday. “Bobbi Kristina Brown passed away 26th July 2015, surrounded by her family,” Ms Kristen Foster said. “She is finally at peace in the arms of God. We want to again thank everyone for their tremendous amount of love and support during these last few months.”
Brown, 22, was found unresponsive in a bathtub at her home in Atlanta, Georgia on 31st January. She remained unresponsive after being awoken from her coma and doctors say she suffered “irreversible brain damage.” Brown was the daughter of Houston and singer Bobby Brown, who divorced in 2007 after a tumultuous 14 year marriage.
Brown’s court-appointed conservator, Bedelia C. Hargrove, recently filed a civil lawsuit against the 22-year-old’s boyfriend, Nick Gordon, claiming that he caused Brown “substantial bodily harm” in an altercation that led to being found “face down in a bathtub, with her mouth swollen and another tooth knocked out.”
Gordon was raised by the late music icon from a young age but was never legally adopted by the ‘I have nothing’ singer. Nick and Bobbi Kristina had previously announced their engagement claiming that their mother would have supported their union. Gordon, who is also accused of stealing money from Brown and falsely claiming to be her husband, has yet to respond to the accusations since the lawsuit was filed.
Whitney Houston was found dead in a bathtub on 11th February, 2012. Her death was caused by accidental drowning, heart disease and cocaine use. In her will, she left everything to Bobbi Kristina, her only child.
