Empire Cinemas have announced an exciting programme of Empire Extra screenings for October, which includes several high profile live and theatre events.
Chief among the showings, is the live screening of The Importance of Being Earnest on Thursday 8th October. The production – which recently visited The Mayflower in Southampton – stars David Suchet as the formidable Lady Bracknell in Oscar Wilde’s classic comedy. The play is set to be broadcast live, with additional backstage footage and cast interviews exclusive to the cinema event.
The Empire Extra programme will also see one-off live screenings of The Who: Live in Hyde Park, MET Opera: Il Trovatore and NT Live’s Hamlet, starring Benedict Cumberbatch. A number of other Shakespearian productions, including the Royal Shakespeare Company’s latest rendition of Henry V and the MET Opera’s interpretation of Othello.
