Following his ‘Legends’ performance at Glastonbury earlier this year, Lionel Richie has announced that he will be the latest celebrity to have a residency in Las Vegas.
The soul icon will perform just under twenty shows at Planet Hollywood from April to October next year. The show will include a range of hits from his back catalogue including ‘Hello’, ‘All Night Long’ and ‘Dancing on the Ceiling’.
Speaking after the announcement, Richie said: “I’m so excited to begin my residency at Planet Hollywood. I can’t wait to share ‘All the Hits, All Night Long’ with all of my fans – it’s a high energy show that is a perfect match for such a vibrant city!”
Richie also told the LA Times that he was encouraged to do the residency by his 21-year-old son, Miles who said it would be “the coolest thing in the world.” Other singers such as Mariah Carey, Celine Dion and Britney Spears have all had tremendous success in their Vegas residencies.
