Sam Smith has premiered the music video for his record-breaking James Bond theme ‘Writing on the Wall.’
Directed by Smith’s long-time collaborator Luke Monaghan, the music video sees Smith appear in front of several coffins, all of which are adorned with Union Jack flags. The singer also shows up in an as-yet unknown coastal location.
The video also teases clips from Spectre, featuring Daniel Craig’s Bond as he embarks on his latest government mission, as well as his encounters with newest Bond girls, Lea Seydoux and Monica Bellucci.
Despite being released an hour behind schedule – the video was suppose to drop at 0:07 but was delayed – the video has been hailed by fans for it’s iconic imagery and quintessentially English London locations.
Smith made history last week by becoming the first artist to claim the number one spot in the UK Top 40 with a James Bond theme song.
Spectre is set to be released in UK cinemas on 26th October. Watch Smith’s video for ‘Writings on the Wall’ below.
