Comedian Jason Manford is set to star in the stage production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, at Southampton’s very own Mayflower Theatre next February.
The Daily Echo announced that Manford has be cast in the lead role of Caractacus Potts – the part played by Dick Van Dyke in the 1968 film adaptation.
Ex-Spandau Ballet member and Eastenders actor, Martin Kemp will be playing the evil Childcatcher while Amy Griffiths will take on the role of Truly Scrumptious. Phill Jupitus will also appear as Baron Bomburst, with Ex-Coronation Street star Michelle Collins playing Baroness Bomburst.
The Music & Lyrics Limited and West Yorkshire Playhouse production of the musical begins it’s UK and Ireland tour at the Mayflower Theatre, where it will run from 10th -21st February 2016.
