“We watch, we listen and we remember.” This is how the first teaser trailer released by HBO for season 6 of Game of Thrones opens.
Voiced by the new Three Eyed Raven, played by veteran actor Max von Sydow, it seems as though at least someone knows what’s to come. Fast forward to Jon Snow on the wall and a series of what appear to be flashbacks of big deaths and disfigurements.
Arya going blind, Jon getting stabbed, Ned Stark decapitated, Jaime losing his famous arm, flashes of Daenerys and her dragons, the baby that got turned into a white walker and some creepy smashing of doors.
This 41 second recap seems to hint that Bran Stark, who was missing from season 5, might be at the centre of the plot for season 6. One question however still remains; is the Jon we see on the mountain top past or present? Dead or alive? Unfortunately, as of yet, we still know nothing.
With Bran, warning online theories are set to go bonkers. Fingers crossed one of them is real, but as Bran states that “they have no idea what’s going to happen”, we are reminded that we too are still very much in the dark.
Games of Thrones will return to screens in April.
