Studiocanal have finally released the first teaser trailer for Ben Wheatley’s latest film, High Rise.
Based on the prolific dystopian novel by J.G. Ballard, the film is set in a high rise tower block that, though immaculate upon first glance, houses an ominous and riling atmosphere of discontent among it’s residents.
The mysterious 81-second teaser is presented under the guise of a promotional advert for Anthony Royal Architecture – the fictional building firm which constructed the titular tower block. Enticingly narrated by Tom Hiddleston, the video showcases the seemingly perfect modern aesthetics of the 1975 high rise, whilst simultaneously hinting at the darker horrors that lie within it’s pristine walls.
Hiddleston stars in this psychological thriller alongside a superb supporting cast, which includes the likes of Jeremy Irons, Sienna Miller, Luke Evans, Elisabeth Moss, James Purefoy and Reece Shearsmith.
The film first premiered at the London Film Festival back in October, where it received huge critical acclaim. Our first-look review can be found here.
High Rise is slated to hit UK cinemas on 18th March 2016. Watch the teaser below.
