The news that Marvel fans have been waiting for is finally here. Netflix have announced that their original series Daredevil will return with its second season on Friday 18th March 2016.
The release date was announced earlier this morning (Thursday 7th January) in the form of a chilling new teaser trailer for the series. The trailer shows scenes from the show’s debut season as paintings in a church, in a very Sistine Chapel-esque way, with a choral piece to accompany it.
Over this, it also has a series of voice-overs from the previous series, as well as footage from the new series. The trailer culminates in the eerie words of Father Lantom that Daredevil’s work is not yet done, followed by the smashing of church windows… It’s all very epic, really.
The new series will see Charlie Cox reprise his role as Matt Murdock, alongside fellow season regulars, Elden Henson, Deborah Ann Woll and Rosario Dawson. The new season will also see the introduction of Frank Castle/ The Punisher (Jon Bernthal) and Elektra Natchios (Elodie Yung).
All 13 episodes of the second season of Daredevil will be available to stream exclusively on Netflix, from Friday 18th March 2016.
