Queens of the Stone Age’s Josh Homme and rock icon Iggy Pop have secretly recorded an album together with Arctic Monkey’s drummer Matt Helders.
The album, entitled Post Pop Depression was recorded in three weeks between Homme’s two studios in Joshua Tree and Los Angeles.
Both Pop and Homme have commented on the album, with Pop describing the album’s theme as “What happens after your years of service? And where is the honor?”
Homme also discussed how recording Post Pop Depression helped him through the shock of his fellow bandmates in Eagles of Death Metal being caught up in the Paris attacks: “The fact that I had this to work on, it saved me.”
Both Homme and Pop plan to tour the album around it’s release this March.
