London-based duo Oh Wonder, comprised of Josephine Vander Gucht and Anthony West, have revealed their new video for ‘Lose It’ – a single taken from their independent self-titled LP.
The video shows the band inviting dancers to audition for a role in the track’s visuals. The auditions were in fact fake, but the dancers had no knowledge of this.
The group of talented dancers have their own routines, but are surprised half-way through with a line of back-up dancers and confetti canons leading them to embrace the sudden change. What ensues is a host of visuals capturing these dancers improvising and expressing their personality and style.
Speaking to Buzzfeed about the video, the duo said: “We wanted to capture the song’s sense of being uninhibited in one’s self-expression through dance. When the curtain drops to reveal the chorus dancers, you see each auditionee uncertain and surprised but once they lose their control and inhibition they are drawn into improvising with the other dancers.”
