We’ve got the photos, we’ve got the return date (Sunday 24th April), so what else is there to wait for other than a new trailer for the much-anticipated sixth season of Game of Thrones?
Oh wait, we’ve got that too! Last night the video was leaked online through various outlets but was quickly removed due to Copyright. Now, we’ve been treated to it officially.
In the new clip, we’re taken through Westeros’ Hall of Faces, where we’re also treated to close ups and voice overs of many of the characters that we’ve loved, loathed and lost over the seasons. Most interestingly, Jon Snow is among them, alongside Ned, Catelyn and Robb Stark, as well as the young King Joffrey Baratheon. Are we being tricked or is Jon Snow actually really dead?
Throughout the video we also hear snippets of quotes from seasons past. “The man who passes the sentence should swing the sword,“ opens the clip, quickly followed by Robb Stark’s quote: “I’ve won every battle, but I’m losing this war.”
But perhaps the best quote comes at the end and from none other than Jon Snow himself: “The long night is coming – and the dead come with it.”
Going by the teaser, it certainly sets us up for the “epic and insane” season we’ve been promised by Emilia Clarke. And it looks like all those Jon Snow is-he-or-isnt-he death rumours will FINALLY be answered. Well, maybe.
April can’t get here soon enough. Watch the teaser below.
