Chicago four-piece Fall Out Boy and Glaswegian trio Biffy Clyro have been announced as the final headliners for this year’s Reading and Leeds Festivals.
The bands will co-headline the main stage at Leeds on Friday 26th August and on the Sunday at Reading. They join fellow co-headliners Foals and Disclosure (Friday at Reading and Saturday at Leeds), and the Red Hot Chilli Peppers who will headline the Saturday at Reading and the Sunday at Leeds.
Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz explained to Kerrang! that the band were looking to have already finished their summer circuit by the time Reading and Leeds came around: “I’ll be real honest – we were shutting it down for the summer. We were like, ‘Let’s just take some time and whatever’, and that’s how powerful a co-headline spot at Reading and Leeds is. I’m of no mind that we’re either the coolest band on the planet or the biggest artist on the planet. But, in some ways, we’re one of the few – at least in our country – that is both played on pop radio and plays venues that are like amphitheatres, and I feel like that’s maybe our place, and getting to co-headline Reading & Leeds is a big piece of that, which is very cool.”
Other acts added to the line-up include A$AP Rocky, Lower Than Atlantis, Five Finger Death Punch, State Champs, Skindred, and Cage The Elephant.
