Citadel festival, held in London’s Victoria Park, made it’s debut last year on a bright sunny Sunday. This year, Caribou have been revealed as the second headliner for the event, which takes place for a second time on 17th July.
Dan Snaith is the Canadian producer behind the tropical electro project, generating songs that are the perfect fit for a summer’s evening. Sigur Ros had been previously announced as a headline act, which was exciting for fans of theirs as they’ll only play one other UK date this year.
The Icelandic group combine immense, high vocals and delicate strings – the effect of which is definitely something special. You’ll recognise their track ‘Hoppípolla’ from Planet Earth and Match of the Day montages.
Also included in the most recent line-up announcement are Lianne La Havas, Nathaniel Ratecliff and the Night Sweats, Matt Corby and Billie Marten – promising a soulful, acoustic collection of amazing voices throughout the day.
The beautiful thing about Citadel is the range of other bits and bobs aside from all that wonderful live music. The Cherry Cola Rock and Roller Skate rink returns this year, alongside the Sunday Sports Day activities (with added Disco Dodgeball this year!) A Koppaberg pop-up forest tent, loads of food stands, an Udderbelly comedy tent and Fabric DJ sessions are all set to make this the ideal summer’s day out.
Tickets for Citadel are available here and are priced at £54.45 including booking fees.
