Universal have dropped the first full trailer for the much awaited Bridget Jones sequel, Bridget Jones’ Baby.
Renee Zellweger reprises her role as Helen Fielding’s hapless singleton, who finds herself back on the market after a brutal break-up with her long-time love interest, Mark Darcy (Colin Firth).
Unlike previous films however, Hugh Grant’s devilish Daniel Cleaver is nowhere to be seen; having been replaced by Patrick Dempsey’s dishy new character, Jack. As the title suggests, the plot is far more complicated than a typical love triangle, as Bridget discovers that she is pregnant – and either of the two men could be the father.
According to Digital Spy, three different endings have been shot for the film, meaning that even the cast won’t know who the father is until the final cut. “The plan is to keep us all in the dark, right up to the premiere,” Zellweger said earlier this year. “It’s kind of brilliant.”
Featuring cameos from Ed Sheeran and Emma Thompson, the film will also see a flurry of familiar faces, with the likes of Jim Broadbent, Gemma Jones, Celia Imrie and Sally Phillips all returning to their roles.
Bridget Jones’ Baby will hit UK cinemas on 16th September. Watch the trailer below.
