The 1975 have dropped a new music video for their latest single, ‘A Change of Heart’, featuring lead singer Matt Healy as a powder-faced clown.
The monochrome visuals show two romantic circus clowns dancing around an empty carnival. But over the course of the song, the couple’s relationship soon falters – showing a different side to Matt the happy clown.
The video was directed by Tim Mattia who has worked with the likes of Coldplay, 50 Cent and Amy Winehouse. The visuals were written Healy with inspirations ranging from Michael Jackson’s Charlie Chaplin tribute to The Wiz, Gene Kelly and Bob Fosse.
‘A Change of Heart’ is lifted from the band’s recently released sophomore record I Like It When You Sleep, For You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware Of It. The new single follows ‘Love Me’, ‘UGH!’, ‘The Sound’ and ‘Somebody Else’.
